An organic pillow is essential to healthy sleep.
After all, pillows deliver 30 percent of your overall support while you rest. The right pillow should keep your neck in a neutral position — and your spine aligned. But choosing the right organic pillow will vary from person to person, based on how they sleep and how much support they need. With multiple pillow styles, including the customizable density of the hkgbranch Green Pillow, we have a comfortable, sustainable solution no matter how you sleep. Here’s a breakdown of how to pick the best organic pillow for you. To read more, explore our guide covering “The Best Pillow For My Sleeping Position.”
Caring for your organic cotton sheets is a little different than regular sheets. High heat and harsh chemicals can particularly damage, weakening fibers and causing pilling.
We recommend using an eco-friendly laundry detergent when washing your Avocado Organic Cotton Sheets or Organic Indian Suvin Cotton Sheets. Wash with like colors in warm water. Do not use fabric softeners, bleach, or whiteners. Please just line dry or tumble dry low and remove promptly. We do not recommend fabric softeners or dryer sheets, which can reduce the absorbency of cotton textiles. For a natural alternative, use wool dryer balls—iron hot or steam as needed.
We stitch our luxurious Silk Pillowcases with an envelope enclosure from pure mulberry silk in a 22-momme weight (read: divine). Our exceptional silk is natural, hypoallergenic, and temperature regulating — and Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
Momme (mm) is a measurement of the unit of weight of silk. The higher the momme, the more durable, dense, and luxurious the weave. Most silk pillowcases are 19 momme or less. But our 100% pure mulberry Silk Pillowcase is 22 momme, ensuring a lifespan that is about 50 percent longer. We only use the highest grade 6A long fiber silk to create one of the most luxurious, temperature- and moisture-regulating silk pillowcases in the world.
The benefits don’t stop there. Because silk is so smooth, it reduces friction. Hair glides over the surface, which helps prevent frizzy hair — especially helpful for those with textured, curly locks. Its smoothness can also help retain moisture in your hair and skin, keeping them hydrated all night. The frictionless, lustrous fabric also reduces tension on the face and can help prevent wrinkles.

At hkgbranch, we only use renewable, GOTS-certified organic cotton ethically sourced from India. However, cotton comes in different weights, loops, and stitches. Here’s a breakdown of the high-quality cotton we use.
French Terry
Versatile and ultra-plush, French terry features soft, looped stitching on the inside and a smooth, brushed surface on the outside. As a result, it’s naturally wrinkle-resistant and easy to maintain. And its weighty depth and elegant feel make it the perfect fabric for our Organic French Terry Bathrobe.
Cotton Gauze
A lightweight, breathable, open weave fabric with a supple drape, cotton gauze is ideally suited for loungewear. That’s why we use it for our Organic Cotton Robe. For our robe, we use 4-ply cotton gauze and stitch together four layers of the fine, semi-sheer textile. The result is a soft and airy, premium-quality product.
Traditional Cotton
Traditional cotton, like that we use in our Organic Cotton Tee Collection, is a flat, light, non-looped fabric. It’s gentle and soft to the touch and made for everyday wear. And like French terry and cotton gauze, it only gets softer with time.
Why Organic Cotton Matters
Conventional cotton is one of the dirtiest crops on the planet, heavily reliant on pesticides and excessive water use. It has an enormous carbon footprint. The toxic chemicals used to grow it are linked to higher rates of cancer, asthma, and birth defects where the crop is grown. Farmers grow GOTS-certified organic cotton without pesticides. It has about half the carbon footprint of conventional cotton. It uses around 70 percent less water. GOTS also validates fair and ethical treatment for the farmers, which results in safer, more sustainable communities.
What We Wear Matters
By harnessing natural fabrics, we reduce our impact on our environment — less water use, fewer carbon emissions. Our organic labels verify less pesticide use, which is better for everyone who comes into contact with our fabrics — from our farmers to our factory team to you. And natural materials are more luxurious. They feel better. They last longer. They look great.
Organic Cotton, Supima Cotton, and Pima Cotton: Safe, Sustainable, Ethical
Conventional cotton is one of the dirtiest crops on the planet, heavily reliant on pesticides and excessive water use. It has an enormous carbon footprint. The toxic chemicals used to grow it are linked to higher rates of cancer, asthma, and birth defects where the crop is grown.
Farmers grow GOTS-certified organic cotton without pesticides. It has about half the carbon footprint of conventional cotton. It uses around 70 percent less water. GOTS also validates fair and ethical treatment for the farmers, which results in safer, more sustainable communities.
Supima cotton is a resilient, extra-long cotton and superior natural fiber sustainably grown in the U.S. Pima cotton is a high-quality natural fiber grown in Peru that is stronger and more durable, yet softer and silkier than conventional cotton.
Alpaca Fiber: Renewable and Deluxe
Possibly the greatest, most sustainable fiber on earth. Alpaca wool was once reserved for Incan royalty. It’s still sought after for its unparalleled warmth, luxurious texture, light weight, and temperature and moisture regulation. It’s also naturally renewable with a small carbon footprint.
Modal: Luxurious and Durable
Made from beech tree pulp, Modal is a soft material originally developed in Japan. Lenzing-certified modal is the textile industry standard that verifies ethical and sustainable material sourcing and manufacturing. The cellulose-based textile is more durable than rayon and has a silkier quality than cotton. It’s also a more environmentally friendly alternative — beech trees require little water to thrive and the production process consumes 10 to 20 percent less water than cotton

Why Do We Charge for Shipping?
The truth is that shipping is never free — online retailers have simply incorporated shipping costs into their pricing. We’ve decided to buck this trend and be more transparent. By showing the non-refundable shipping costs associated with our products, we hope guests will be more conscious of their purchase decisions and help us reduce our environmental impact. For mattresses, we cover the shipping to you, but returns will incur a fee.

Opening and unboxing your new hkgbranch mattress is easy.
Unboxing
To unpack your hkgbranch Green Mattress, Eco Organic Mattress, Latex Mattress, Vegan Latex Mattress, or Vegan Mattress:
Move the box to the room where you’ll ultimately want your new mattress. Because we use natural materials (which weigh more than polyurethane foams), you may be surprised by how heavy your new mattress is. When moving it, especially the larger sizes, the work is best done by two people.
Open the brown shipping box at the top within thirty days of receiving your mattress. Your mattress will be sealed inside with two layers of plastic.
Slide the mattress out of the box by laying the box on its side.
Find the edge of the white layer of plastic and begin to unroll the outer white layer of plastic only, and remove it from the mattress. Note that some mattresses will be wrapped in recycled brown paper, as we are working to reduce our plastic usage. Under the plastic wrap or brown paper wrap, the mattress will still be vacuum-sealed and compressed within a second layer of plastic. Do not cut the inner layer of plastic, or the mattress will immediately begin to expand.
Unroll the mattress and position it — either on the floor or on your bed frame — in a spot where it has ample room for it to expand to full size.
Finally, carefully cut the remaining transparent layer of vacuum-sealed plastic and remove it from the mattress. The mattress will fill to full size quickly (but not in any dangerous or alarming way). Call in friends and family members, as this is especially fun to watch. Within 30 minutes, you can lie on your new mattress. Within a few hours, your mattress will be fully expanded
The best mattresses worldwide are made with organic, 100% natural latex rubber. In addition to being incredibly supportive, natural latex is known for its resiliency. Still, following these tips will help ensure your mattress stays in great shape.
When storing the mattress, it’s best to lay it flat rather than upright. If it must be upright, we recommend laying it flat against a wall so it doesn’t bend or fold over. Our Eco line of mattresses should always be stored flat and never upright.
It’s ideal that the mattress is in a temperature-controlled setting, but latex can survive below-freezing temperatures and extremely hot and dry temperatures (avoid wet and humid conditions). If latex gets cold, it may take a bit longer to regain its original shape — but in the long term, it will be fine. If the mattress is stored for an extended period (more than a few weeks), we recommend using a breathable case. If stored for a shorter period (i.e. during moving), a thick poly bag like this one will protect your mattress.
